Tapas is a big part of Spanish life. It doesn’t matter which part of the country you visit, you will find tapas. Ok, so in some areas it will be called pintxos but to all intents and purposes it is the same thing. Many towns have a promotion from time to time inviting you to visit several bars and restaurants sampling tapas as you go. Now it is the turn of Mataró!
An event such as this is an opportunity not only to visit bars which you have never been in before, but also to taste food that you wouldn’t normally eat. The tripe with chickpeas (actually callos con garbanzos sounds much more inviting) in La Morera fall into this category. At €2.40 for a small beer and a bit to eat it’s a bargain.
Once you have visited a few bars then you can cast your vote for the best tapas in town. You can download the full guide here: Mataro Tapas Trail. Enjoy!
